Resort 2013

I learned in Textile and Apparel Management 1000 the fall semester of my sophomore year that designers’ holiday or resort collections were created for those who like to take vacations during the holiday season. How convenient since we all like to shop before we travel anyway. The collections are premiered in the summer, so they could be available for purchase by the holiday season. Premieres aren’t on a strict schedule like the spring and fall shows, but the collections themselves are just as good.

Oscar de la Renta

Oscar de la Renta is a busy old man, who loves to please those in the fashion world, and that’s exactly what he did when he premiered his resort 2013 collection last Monday. It’s filled with skirtsuits, sleeveless day dresses, double-face coats and high-waisted pants all in gingham print, graphic black and white prints, lace, colorful floral prints, silk, tulle, sequin and only Lord knows what else. Oscar’s collections are always mini collections that tie into one, and they are always oh so fabulous.

Rachel Roy

Rachel Roy is a talented designer who is unbelievably underrated. Her collections and designs are always up to part, and her Macy’s collection is both affordable and stylish. She premiered her resort 2013 collection yesterday, and it was everything I expected it to be. Colorful, small and simple. She knows how to design for the everyday woman and she knows what the everyday woman wants, which is to be fashionable everyday while still being settled. I give the collection four stars, and I give the color-blocked, block-heel sandals paired with a few looks a five. I need those.

Instead of tatting tears under your eye, try tatting Chanel’s logo to represent the fashion crimes you’ve committed just like the models from Chanel’s Resort 2013 show in Versailles a couple days ago.
All you need is an eyebrow pencil and a steady hand and you’ll be ready to face the world très chic with these interlocking Cs.

Reason 5734 why I miss London: Royal Mail is paying homage to Britian fashion designers with this chic stamp collection. How Fab.

Peace.

Marc by Marc Jacobs wedge sneakers from his spring 2012 collection are now available for purchase online and in-store for a whopping $320, and from the looks of these babies, I’d say they are worth every red penny.

Dear Ma and Pa, I know I’ve asked for so many things for graduation, but could you please squeeze these on the list?
